Overview
A compound tie rod compensator is a restrained flexible component for piping systems, designed primarily to absorb lateral displacement caused by thermal expansion and contraction, while bearing the internal pressure thrust of the pipeline. It generally consists of two metal bellows, an intermediate connecting pipe, end plates and tie rod assemblies, with flanged or welded end connections available.
This type of compensator is widely used in L-shaped and Z-shaped pipe runs where controlled lateral offset compensation is required without transferring pressure thrust to adjacent equipment.
